National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)

An organization that writes guidance for health and care practitioners. Here it is the issuer of two pieces of guidance: the guideline on hypertension in pregnancy (NG133) and the HealthTech guidance on tests based on placental growth factor (PlGF) for suspected preterm pre-eclampsia (HTG630, formerly DG49).

Overview

Technical summary

Issuer of every NICE document the atlas cites. NICE guideline NG133 (Hypertension in pregnancy: diagnosis and management) is behind the recommendations on aspirin and the blood pressure target. NICE HealthTech guidance HTG630 (PLGF-based testing to help diagnose suspected preterm pre-eclampsia, formerly diagnostics guidance DG49) is behind the recommendation on PlGF-based testing. The institution role is a placeholder that the schema requires. The fetched pages do not state NICE’s jurisdiction, so the atlas does not attach one to NICE itself. Each NICE decision record states the jurisdiction it uses. Whether NICE becomes a shared core identity is open (the request for core:nice is in requests/shared-core-identities.md): the cardiovascular atlas holds its own cardio:nice.
